Hi,
I did a "BOG" mistake on a new, just finished virtual machine with Solairs and two Oracle RAC Zones, so I hope to recover the image.
Problem has begun when I try to increase the size of the dynamic disk for increas the swap area.
This was the original disk:
UUID: fd113870-57f4-4f1c-96d5-0b13280b7bbe
Parent UUID: base
State: created
Type: normal (base)
Location: /opt/VirtualBox/SunOS/agalanti-sun.vdi
Storage format: VDI
Format variant: dynamic default
Capacity: 30000 MBytes
Size on disk: 10786 MBytes
Encryption: disabled
I tried to increse using bytes insted of MB,
VBoxManager modifyhd /opt/VirtualBox/SunOS/agalanti-sun.vdi --resize 22517998136852480
so now it has become unusable:
[root@agalanti_it-linux Downloads]# file /opt/VirtualBox/SunOS/agalanti-sun.vdi
/opt/VirtualBox/SunOS/agalanti-sun.vdi: VDI Image version 1.1 (<<< Oracle VM VirtualBox Disk Image >>>), 22517998136852480 bytes
is there any way to fix it?

Re: Damaged VDI metadata
Probably the same bug as already reported here https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/15983. There will be a fix in the next maintenance release. It is possible to repair manually but this requires some in depth knowledge about the VDI format and what to look for in the image. You can send me the first 5MB of the VDI image to alexander (dot) eichner (at) oracle (dot) com and I can have a look at it.
