I have a windows 10 64 bit home edition guest machine running in xubuntu host with no problems, I can access internet , watch films and so on, BUT when I run skype in windows 10 then call some one, the calling is so laggish and interrupts all the time it looks that the connection speed or bandwidth is much lower then should be, I think is some setting missing in virtual box for network connection. The same call running in skype in host machine is normal with no problems. I'm connected to the internet by WiFi router and I have the latest Virtualbox installation . Can anyone help me with this issue? thanks Vladi.

Real time audio processing is not at its best on a virtual machine. Having said that, try downloading to 5.0.28 or the latest of the 5.0.x series, since the 5.1.x series have had some audio issues.

And please don't compare apples (host) and oranges (guest). The first is running on real chips. The latter on virtual.

Thanks Socratis, I have virtualbox 5.0.28 installed, I didn´t think about real time video and voice streaming in virtual box. Of corse can´t be compared btw. host and guest machines, I hope that futures versions of virtual box will have best suport to real time video an voice. Thanks.
