Serial problem!

i have Ubuntu 8.04 (host) and DOS6 (guest)
i must do a project in assemby for university...
the usb-serial adaptor work well on linux and work well on DOS... but the problem is when i shutdown the VM an error pop up after 2-5 minutes
but why?!?!?! i doesn't understand...
