The installed graph display adapter driver must be specifically designed for the installed hardware

Post by paulchany »

Hi,

on my Gentoo Linux host I have installed Virtual Box version 4.3.38_Gentoo r106717.

I installed on it the Windows Multipoint Server 2011 from a comTrade Multipoint Solution Windows Multipoint Server 2011 Recovery Disk called comTrade MPS310.

Whenever I boot it on VirtualBox, I get the message that can be seen on my attached image.
Multipoint Server Configuration Error
Multipoint Server has detected a misconfiguration.

The installed graphics display adapter driver must be specifically designed for the installed hardware.
Install the latest display adapter drivers from the manufacturer.

To resolve these problems, press any key to put the computer into maintenance mode, and then log on using an administrator account.
So I do that and can login as Administrator.
But can not set up out there any display adapter graphics, because it is using VirtualBox graphics driver.

So can I solve this problem some how?

Can you be a little bit more specific? A couple of links that I found are in Bosnian. Did you download a pre-made VM? Did you install it yourself?
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

The DVD that I used to install MultiPoint server on VirtualBox was made with CloneZilla.
When I boot my VM ( virtual machine? ) with this DVD than CloneZilla started and from that point I must to wait only the installation to finish for.
At the and of this process I get the message:
„Please remove the disc, close the tray (if any) and press ENTER to continue“
I did so. The Windows MP Server 2011 starts and when booted, I get the message about misconfiguration of the graphics display adapter driver.
The DVD is actually a backup of a running MP Server 2011 on the specific PC. CloneZilla did backups the partitions of that system.

OK, now it makes sense. You are restoring from an already working system. Of course there is going to be a mismatch, since the graphics cards are not the same.

You would have the same problem if you were to restore to another physical computer. This is not something that VirtualBox can do about it. You have to find a solution from the Windows Multipoint Server side, not VirtualBox.
