Graphic issue

Post by MK13 »

Hello,

since the update to virtual box version 5.1.4-1 I get strange graphical errors when starting up a virtual machine. I'm not entirely sure that the error occurs since version 5.1.4-1 as I haven't used virtual box for some time but always installed the updates.

General system info:
Host is an arch Linux installation on the newest updates (-Syu'd minutes ago)
Guest is a windows 8.1
CPU is a i5 4560s
GPU is a Radeon HD 6900 Series card
16GB RAM
WM is i3 in version 4.11

Here a screenshot of the virtual box app and the VM screen:

Please note the resolution of the VM screen. Also note the white space at the right site of the screen. Even if I set the VM to fullscreen (MOD+F) the screen stays at the same size and the graphical issues remain.

If you need any further information I will gladly provide them.

Thanks in advance.

I also tried to reinstall virtual box, tried different graphic acceleration settings on the guest and tried to set up a fresh VM, but the error persists
