virtual box power consumption

Post by hush7 »

When I start up one VM my battery consumption is very low and good but when I start up two to four VM's my MacBook pro begins to heat up, this does not happen on other virtual platforms that I have on my Mac book
Needs help about this power consumption

  • You gave no numbers or concrete data, so we can only guess.
  • What does 'top' show?
  • What are your guests?
  • What are their respective activity monitors show at the time? Windows are notorious for trying to update themselves causing CPU power to mount.
  • How many CPUs do you have? How many have you allocated to each VM?
  • How much RAM do you have available? How much RAM have you allocated to each VM?
Answer these basic questions and then we're going to go into more detailed ones; the logs.
