Hey guys, i need help. I don't know where to turn for in this forum. If i made mistake player move this post to proper place.
Has anyone ever encoutered time change on windows when running vbox.
My hardware and system time is set to GMT +1. Whenever i start vbox vmachine (linux), my time is changed to UTC. that is -1 hr from current. If i update my windows time over internet..it happens again when i'm turning off my vmachine. although it's not happening 100% every time. it skips a few,, but 86% chance that it will do that.
is there any fix to this?

Let me see if I understand this correctly...
Your host is Windows (version?). Your guest is a Linux distribution (specifics?). You host's time changes when you run the VM? If that is the case, please go to: VM settings, System tab, Motherboard tab, Extended Features settings, Hardware Clock in UTC time. Is that checked or not? What happens if you toggle it?
The funny thing is that this should not be happening. The guest should not be able to change the host's low level characteristics, such as the system clock. It should have no access at all. And frankly, I can't say that I remember a similar case. Please provide as many details as you can.

That is exactly as you understood. My host system is Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Sp1 (with all updates). My guest system (now this is bit tricky). I haven't been totally honest. I'm actually using KoPlayer. Android fronted for vbox vmachine. It's basicly Vbox with added virtual machine and some more coding over it to add new features. When i open vbox it's's using linux based OS. (Other linux 32-bit). That option you wrote about "hardware clock in UTC" is disabled. but it doesn't change a thing, other then when it changes windows time, it just changes windows time. It leaves BIOS alone. If this option is on, it still changes windows time, but it changes BIOS time as well. To be honest i have no clue how is this even possible. Never ever seen this in my life that somethink can touch bios time (well...UEFI to be specific).
I did turned to KoPlayer support for this, but poor souls they are, they have no clue what's causing this. They have also suggested hardware clock in UTC option, but it didn't help. They tried to fix this over various new versions (they just made more bugs and didn't fix the real one).
Sad thing is that this is really really promising emulator. I have tried all of them from andy, over bluestacks to this one. This one is by far the best there is (if there wasn't this one bug). It's easy to use, nice interface, very fast and responsive, really good feature design (like keyboard and controler and other stuff), supports greatest number of apps, and none of them are making problems. over time i have found only one app that doesn't work. Now it is using 4.3.34_OSE r104062 version of Vbox. I have no idea is it the latest one.
Can you try to get this emulator and see for yourself? If you do, i suggest installing 1.3.1040 version of KoPlayer. That one works the best, and you can ingore all other fixes and updates (fix lists too) from it.
Thank you again for looking into this.
