Runaway process: /usr/bin/VBoxClient --draganddrop

Post by schwim »

Hi there,

Win 10 host
Debian Jessie guest

Issue: process /usr/bin/VBoxClient --draganddrop is maxing processor resources and refusing to stop.

Since upgrading to 5.1.6 r110634, I've had to reboot the system every few hours due to this process pinning my processor usage and not going away. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to prevent this from happening.

You can see in the screenie that the two processes are maxing out my processor. You can click for large:

Thanks for your time!

• As a first step, you could just disable DnD on the VM settings? It should help.
• Are you running Full Screen or Seamless Mode?
• Take a look at: Investigating drag and drop (DnD) problems. Please read it and take appropriate action.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
