Error during encryption
I was encrypting a virtual machine, and using kernel 4.8.1 (host) when the system crashed to 87% of the virtual machine encryption and I have to turn off the PC (host) forcibly. When I go to start the error appears " system halted no bootable medium found". I already encrypt and decrypting again but the error remains. What should I do ? Already I tried gparted live and parted magic and still did not get, giving error "The superblock could not be read or does not describe a valid ext2/ext3/ext4 filesystem."
Re: Error during encryption
Have you created a virtual hard disk? If not then your virtual machine is a machine without a hard disk, hence the error.
To add one, goto the same "storage" settings as in your first snap, then right-click "IDE Controller" icon and select "Add Hard disk". Then follow the steps to create a new disk or add an existing one.

Re: Error during encryption
The error can also occur if the virtual HD is damaged and its boot sector can't be found. There may have been a corruption at the host's file contents. Try running 'fsck' on the host and see if it fixes the problem. If not, I hope you have a backup. Search for "mpack damaged vdi site:forums.virtualbox.org" to see if any of the potential solutions might help you.
