Tested image linux through terminal

hello folks,

I am a newbie in virtualbox, and more newbie in VBoxManage, in Linux. I want test a distro linux and I think use virtualbox for this. I want do this through terminal. I was thinking something like this:

VBoxManage Ubuntu16.04 --type dvddrive --medium lubuntu-14.04.5-desktop-amd64.iso 

but this didn't result. How can I do this without reserved space disk and without specify all settings through menus?

My system is: Lubuntu 16.04 LTS.

You mixed several options with no actual command. VBoxManage is quite powerful and need some reading. The introduction to Chapter 8. VBoxManage contains a brief example on how to create a VM with nothing attached. I'll briefly cite the example of the introduction:

• VBoxManage createvm --name "SUSE 10.2" --register

For all available options, please continue reading the manual, especially 8.7. VBoxManage createvm and 8.18. VBoxManage storageattach on how to attach media to the VM.

But is possible run iso in virtual box without reserve space disk?

If you mean running a "Live CD/DVD", yes, absolutely. Just don't add a hard drive to the VM, or delete it if you already have one. I have a VM just for that reason. It's called "LiveCDs" But remember, a live CD will not be able to save any data or its configuration after a reboot of the VM.
