NAT Networking on Windows Guest Not Working

Post by WarpKat »

Host: Ubuntu Server 16 64-bit
VirtualBox: 5.0.24
IP: 192.168.1.252
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (pfSense router with a Verizon fiber WAN uplink)

I can ping from this server anywhere in the world...however...

Guest: Windows Server 2012 R2
Guest IP: 192.168.2.10 (static, no DHCP enabled)
Gateway: 192.168.2.2 (have also tried 192.168.2.1)
Network Mode: NAT Network
Network CIDR: 192.168.2.0/24

Issue: The guest can ping itself, but can't ping anything on the outside, including anything on the 192.168.1.0/24 network.

Regular NAT mode works with DHCP enabled - I can ping outside the network to Google other sites.

Bridge mode works fine - no problem.

Any takers?
