cant connect to other vm dc

HAY.
SO i made TWO Mchines.
i am running 2 server 2016.
server 2 he has DHCP, DNS, AD DS.
server 1 just running server 2016.
they can Ping each other.
but if i when want to promote server 1 do a dc it tells me the he cant find the domain by the name i gave server 2(the "full sever wih everything installd") - its domain name?
what should i do
i am currently not at ar home so i dont have pictuers to upload...

If they can ping each other, then VirtualBox is working as it should. After that if becomes a Windows Domain question. You'll have better luck if you forget that this is a VirtualBox issue and treat it as having two physical Windows computers. I would look at a Windows forum.

When I told you to go to a "Windows forum", I didn't mean the "VirtualBox on Windows Hosts" forum, I meant an actual "Windows" forum. Forget about VirtualBox at this point, it has nothing to do with it.

Apart from learning how Windows domains work or posting your problem in a Windows forum?
As you were told earlier, if the two machines can ping each other, VirtualBox networking is OK. Anything else you do has nothing whatever to do with VirtualBox. It should work just as it does with physical machines connected to a physical network. Mine does.
To ensure that it is not some problem with your network setup, put these two machines in the same internal virtual network by themselves.

Hint: Is the problem server using the DC (and no other) IP address for DNS?
