Hi,
Host: OSX Sierra, Guest: Win7 Prof 64.
I installed an USB-Soundstick. In VB I activated USB 2.0 with filter with completely empty fields.
I can see the stick in Windows as sound device.
Problem: The sound is clipping in time. I mean, a view millisecond is sound, a few millisecond no sound. (More no sound than sound.)
With the build in sound device of the host ist works fine.
What can I do?
Thanks for all tips!

Re: USB Sounddevice
Virtual Machines are not that great in controlling/communicating with real hardware. It kind of depends how finicky the device is about accurate timing (that last word is the key word). Hardware in a VM has to go through another layer of software which most of the time makes things more complicated and prone to incorrect timing. So if it works, great. If it doesn't, it doesn't.WollePi wrote:What can I do?
Having said that, change the USB option to USB3 (xHCI). It might get better performance, even if your device is actually USB2. But, you'll have to search for and install the Win7 drivers for USB3, because it has no native drivers for it. I believe they're from Intel, but I don't have the link handy.
Finally, do NOT create a filter with all empty fields. It will capture everything under the sun. What you want to do is to fill the VendorID and ProductID (and of course a descriptive name), so you can capture just the ones you actually want.

Re: USB Sounddevice
Thank you socratis!
Ok. Problem solved.
USB-Sound is not to use as USB Device.
Just chose USB-Sound in OS X and chose in Virtual Box and Guest OS the "standard" Sound device.
(Very simple, but took me a day
But every solved problem makes me
So I can handle the next problem

Hahahaha... Some times the solution is right in front of someone's eyes, and usually it's the simplest one
