I truly need some noob help. Please. Kthreadd, stuck processes.

So i was on kali linux. And i was messing with my router. And the program kept closing so i just kept opening it and messing with it. I didn't realize it was putting so many processes up and not completing them fully. So now i got many processes over 40+ and i need to fix this somehow, it is beyond me at this point. If somebody could help me, please. I am a true linux noob. Thank you guys for reading;

-Virtalbox 5.1.6 for linux-Debian 8 ("Jessie")
-VirtualBox 5.1.6 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack
-Kali linux vbox image, newest current one.
-I'm not sure the program i was running at this point.

-i'm using a debian based linux of course, parrot security os.

Just to be clear; this is not a VirtualBox question, is it?

You can use the "kill <PID>" command to kill a process. Use "man kill" to get help or search the web.

i can't kill them my friend, i believe they are uninterpretable sleeping d state. so i'm not sure how to deal with this. i have tried to kill it many times. and i tried reformatting my computer.

but this happened well i was on the virtual box. so that is why i posted here.

I'm not sure what that even means. Are the processes running on a Virtual Machine? If so, what happens if you reboot the VM? The processes cannot still be running after the VM reboots.

i'm truly sorry man. i don't understand how this works. but they showed up when i was using virtual box and kali linux together and the processes are there from that time period. it was like a month ago dude, i just haven't gotten around to fixing it.

So, this did not happen in a Virtual Machine, it happened on your physical computer while running VirtualBox. Did you even reboot your computer?

I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with VirtualBox unfortunately, this is something that is happening on Kali, and as such I would advice you to search appropriately. I mean if you were running Firefox, would you ask in the Firefox forums?

The process don't mean much. I have 286 processes running with out VirtualBox even running.

Instead of telling us what the cause is why not post the guests log file and we can see what might be going on and telling us exactly what the problem is and what happens when you try to run it? Be specific.

i don't know man, everything i have read. it says it is not possible to kill interruptible d state process. i haven't been able to find anything that works.

this truly did happening when virtual box was running. it did. i can go look elsewhere thats fine but i did happen with virtual box running.

i cannot do the guest log i am running the linux os from a usb right now for a month now after reforming. So it hasn't been on my HDD, my HDD is messed up right now because of the errors. It locks up and stuff. So i don't know guys.

Sounds more like you have a host issue whether it be OS or hardware. Hard to say at this point. Yes the issue may have happened while you were using VirtualBox but that does not always mean it was the cause. We need more than I don't know to be able to try to figure out what the problem is or why.

Struck processes always release when you do a cold boot ( complete shutdown ) and if you say you are getting this after a format of the hosts drive and re-install then you now have the actual location since nothing other than the OS is installed.

so i did a cold reboot, pulled the plug sat there a minute. and they are still there. somebody told me to do that before i think. i don't know, this truly is frustrating. i have looked high and low for an answer to fix this.

Wish I could tell you but it is impossible with the information I have. It must be related to the host only as I said before since you formatted and installed the OS again and the problem is the same without anything but the OS installed, it has to be hardware or host OS related. You also mentioned the " HDD is messed up right now because of the errors" what makes you suspect anything else than the HDD or OS?

i'm truly sorry i wish knew how to give you more info about this but i don't. the noob in me ya know. but uh the hdd it was was doing weird to my computer, locking up. just not acting right at all since those process has been there. Every reinstalled it just locked up constantly.

Really sounds like a hardware issue, but you can always ask the Debian forum if they know what to tell you to try to isolate it.
You can also try running a Live OS like Ubuntu or Mint to see if you can figure it out. It will run from your CD/DVD and then check the drive for errors and the like. Other than that it sounds like a trip to the computer repair nearest you I am afraid.
