[Disregard] - WinXP Host, WinXP Guest - Networking Question

Post by lCine7ic »

Hello.

I'm using Virtual Box to isolate my offices Phone System tools (Toshiba eManager, Stratagy ES Administration) from my actual work-related software as they have caused NUMEROUS conflicts in the past.

Both the Computer Host and VM are running WinXP SP2.

The phone system equipment resides on our intranet which cannot be accessed outside of the company domain.

I believe that bridging my computer's NIC w/ the Virtual Host Adapter would allow the VM to access the phone system equipment; however due to security reasons, my company's policy is to not allow bridged network connections on the domain.

Is there any way to tunnel between my actual NIC and the Virtual Host Adapter/Guest VM NIC?

Thank you a thousand times in advance.

Wow. I assumed that because I couldn't ping equipment on our intranet, that NAT wouldn't work. It turns out that NAT works fine.
