VirtualBox 5.1.4 Win7 Install Problem

I'm trying to install VirtualBox 5.1.4 and it fails halfway though with a "The Windows Installer could not be accessed" error.

I'm using Win 7 Pro 64 bit

Steps I've taken:

1. Reboot lol
2. Checked windows installer service and it is running.
3. Changed the service to manual and stopped started
4. Checked the registry and did an msirepair
5. Checked for multiple instances of the Msiexec file in /Windows/System32 but there was only one

Am I missing anything?

Install issues:
First, you must right-click the Virtualbox installer program and choose "Run As Administrator" from the right-click menu, even if your account is an administrator account.

Next, the Virtualbox installer is actually a Microsoft program, which uses the host's "MSI" system. If errors happen in the installation process, you can enable Microsoft's MSI logging and try the installer again (google how to enable MSI logging). If an error occurs, post the MSI log here and on a Microsoft forum. Someone should be able to tell you what the problem is.

I'm not entriely familiar with everything that can go wrong with an MSI installer, but I see two things:

At the beginning of the log:
"Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

In the middle:
"Error 2888: Executing the TextStyle view failed"

Sounds to me like the MSI system on your PC is broken and the installer can't start itself right. Time to google that Error 1719...

That error is the windows installer service can't be accessed error. I already checked that and it's running. I'm also able to install anything else.

I just got it to work.

Changed this in the registry for anyone else that has this problem

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROL SET\SERVICES\MSIserver\WOW64 and changed the value to 0 instead of 1. Reboot and I was able to install it.
