Hello,

i have a virtual machine with ubuntu as os on a Windows 8 Notebook.
It works well for a Long time. But since today the virtual machine is not starting and i can not figure out why.

maybe a reason is that i installed the Virtual Studio, which also install a lot of other libraries.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot
Jens

I have attached a logfile

00:00:01.564431 WARNING! 64-bit guest type selected but the host CPU does NOT support HW virtualization.
00:00:02.162699 Full Name: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz"

Looking at the above from your log I would say something on the host is taking total control of your Hardware virtualization ( VT-x/AMD-v ) Since this happened after installing V Studio I would suspect that as the culprit.

In fact the host is Windows 8.1, not Windows 8.

I believe this means that Hyper-v is installed and enabled on the host. You'll need to disable it and restart the host.
