Hi,
I have Ubuntu as host, and Windows server 2012 and Windows 8.1 as guests.
I have Ad, DNS,DHCP installed on the server.
But there is something wrong.
There is no connectivity between the 2 guests.
They can't ping eachother, can't join the domain,DHCP doesn't work.
What must be the Default Gatway of teh server, I am lost whit this, I tried everything, I am stuck
maybe someone can put me in the right direction

Re: Can't join the domain
Moving to Windows guests since this is really the issue.
Use Internal and set the guests like they were on metal. MS has a forum for server configurations.

Re: Can't join the domain
As Perry said, this is really a Windows AD question. Follow Perry's advice and put your domain machines in the same internal virtual network. Then proceed as if you were using physical machines connected to the same physical switch. Forget about external network access until you get you domain working.

Re: Can't join the domain
I have done what you guys suggested , now DHCP works, they can ping each other , but still have problems to join the windows8 machine to the domain.
I messed with the DNS settings, I think that is the problem.
I get the following error;
DNS naam doesn't exist
0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR

Re: Can't join the domain
You must use the local DNS on the DC for AD to work, and the client machine must use this DNS only. Do not add any other DNS address, even as a secondary.

Re: Can't join the domain
At this point it appears that Virtualbox has established the network between the two guests and they can talk to each other. There is nothing else in Virtualbox to do to get the win8 guest to join the domain. Now you'd need to solve this problem as if you are working on two separate physical computers. Google, Bing, Technet, etc.Rob316 wrote:now DHCP works, they can ping each other
