When I lunch a virtual machine the error is Failed to instantiate CLSID_VirtualBox w/ IVirtualBox, but CLSID_VirtualBox w/ IUnknown works.
PSDispatch looks fine. Weird.

Re: Can't start any virtual machine
We had a look at the VBoxHardening.log file -- no obvious problem. In general it's correct to search for "fail", "error", VERR and something like that. Are you sure that no VBox.log file is created at all? Is there any crash when you try to start the VM?
Re: Can't start any virtual machine
There really isn't anything obviously wrong in the log. The error message is interesting though. Clearly some problem setting up COM in the VM process.
Do you have any anti-virus/anti-whatever installed on your system?

Re: Can't start any virtual machine
I don't have antivirus, only MsMpEng.exe. When i try run virtual machine i get only error from VirtualBox no other crash.
I attach log in Logs folder.
Until August 3 everything worked properly. After I could no longer run any virtual machine. I They try to uninstall Windows updates, but have not been successful. If VirtualBox does not tell me what goes wrong, I no longer use it. All other software on the machine working properly (VisualStudio, LibreOffice, VMWare, etc)
Thank you.
Antonio

Re: Can't start any virtual machine
Strange. This doesn't seem to me like a standard install of VirtualBox, or Win7. I'm made suspicious by the path to the VM folder: "H:\VirtualBox\Windows 7 Installato e aggiornato con FF_ 7Z_ N__".
Then there's the path error "The image file '\\NAS1\Downloads\Appl\Microsoft\Windows 7\Windows 7 ITA SOLO Ultimate (64bit e 32bit) gia attivato.iso' is inaccessible and is being ignored. Please select a different image file for the virtual DVD drive.". What site was this ISO downloaded from?
I'm disturbed by the fact that the VM name includes rather a lot of punctuation characters, including "++" which could be seen as switches. This shouldn't be a problem, but IMHO is asking for trouble.
I see in the log (VBox.log) that the guest OS attempts to boot twice and then seems to shut down of its own accord. Activation expired?
Finally, this VM is dangerously close to using up all available host RAM.

Re: Can't start any virtual machine
I have created a new virtual machine with 512MB RAM and 8GB disk. Attach all virtual machine folder.
Thank you

Re: Can't start any virtual machine
I´m having the same problem.
From yesterday none of my machines start. I unnistall the updates that i have made, but still nothing.
Linux machines freeze on boot.
I haven hyper-v activate in win10 features and enable on BIOS.
I have 20H2 win10 build
I try to downgrade the version of virtual box to 6.0.24 but dosen´t help.
I have installed 6.1.18 version of vbox.
What can i do?

Re: Can't start any virtual machine
Same problem as someone from 2016? I think not. Please start your own topic (*) and provide a VM log.
(*) If necessary, i.e. if a thorough read of the FAQ (HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active)) has not helped.
