Tools/scripts/strategies for windows guests

Hi All
I am developing a solution that is based on VirtualBox with windows guests. Guest machines have to be created by users ( it's a lab environment ) from pre-defined OVA files, and then the users are supposed to customize the guest machines "as they wish". Still, there are several initial configuration steps that have to be done by the system's initial setup scripts, such as, defining the user's account with admin privileges, correctly mapping the guest network connections and routes, etc. Then I also have to block the pre-defined admin user that I defined while creating the pre-defined OVA ( which I'm supposed use with VB's guestcontrol to do the initial configs ).
The thing is that I am not a Windows expert ( I'm the UNIX/Linux guy...), and I am really struggling with how to use guestcontrol to do all this stuff, so I wander if people here could share some of their experience with pre-configuring windows guests and/or point me to existing tools for doing that. I know that it's a bit too general request but I am really stuck an could use any kind of help!
Many thanks,
Oren
