It says that it works by recompiling the VM OS, does this mean I would have to reinstall the OS for paravirtualization to work its magic? It won't work with OSes on VMs I already installed, correct?

Where did you see that? I didn't recall seeing it anywhere and I did a quick search on the manual, but I didn't find anything. The rest of the questions depend on the first one, so my answers would be no, you don't have to reinstall and yes it will work with already installed OSes (on the VMs).

Paravirtualization is an enhancement of virtualization technology in which a guest OS is recompiled prior to installation inside a virtual machine. Paravirtualization allows for an interface to the virtual machine that can differ somewhat from that of the underlying hardware.

• That is not a VirtualBox source, is it?: http://searchservervirtualization.techt ... ualization
• This was last updated in October 2006.
• Plus you read it wrong (and I don't know why they even mentioned it):

• There is also Wikipedia. Did you read that? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paravirtualization
• Finally the User Manual: Chapter 10.4. Paravirtualization providers
