How to input the password for the encryption after sleep the host/guest?

Post by D_S »

Hello everybody,
I think this "error" sitting in front of the keyboard  .. I have the following problem:
I use vbox 5.1.2 with a manjaro-host. In this are installed two-Win10 guests. One guest is on an encrypted virtual disk. After suspend/ standby host - the start is prevented of the encrypted guest.
Only I find no place or window where I can input the password. Consequently, guest stay in suspend and I can read in the log:
fatal = false errorID = DrvVD_DEKMISSING message = "VD: The DEK for this disk is missing"

How can I input the password for the client to start (after suspend/ standby)? Over commandline?

thank you for your help, D_S

I would never use encryption - far too risky - but "VBoxManage controlvm addencpassword" looks like it may be worth a look. I would read that entire area of the manual.
