Failed to acquire the VirtualBox COM object

I was deinstalling Virtualbox 5.0.26 on a Ubuntu 14.04 system and then installing 5.1.2. When I am running virtualbox I am getting the error message "Failed to acquire the VirtualBox COM object".

I was not able to fix that, so I went back to 5.0.26 and getting now the same error message.

Is there any advice or tip to overcome with that problem.

here is the /var/log/vbox-install.log: file was to big for uploading, so I use the first part
vbox-install1.log
(86.9 KiB) Downloaded 49 times
vbox-install2.log
(121.33 KiB) Downloaded 25 times
if I should look for an specific part, let me know

I don't see a specific error that would point to the cause but there is something else I would like you to try.

Remove VirtualBox again and reboot the host to make sure everything is gone, then install again with dpkg instead of the software center that Ubuntu uses and record the terminal output and post here.

I did remove virtualbox and installed it new with "sudo apt-get install virtualbox-5.1" but still virtualbox is not running.

But that is not what I asked for. There is a reason why I would like to see the install done with dpkg and that is to eliminate the Ubuntu software center or their other package managers from interfering.
