on my laptop, Kubuntu 8.04 is running with Virtualbox ose.
After some updates and the change to vbox ose, the start of any host freezes the laptop for about 20 minutes. Then i.e. WinXP is running with very long reaction times. Shutdown is nearly impossible.
When I start the host, I can do some changes in the "bios" and get the message from WinXP, that it was not normaly shutdown and so one. And then, when I start it, it freezes. The last rows of the log-file:
