Viewing Guest OS servers on Host OS

Post by Thetechguy »

Greetings,
Since I'm new with VMs, I've been having some trouble setting up networking in VirtualBox properly. I want to be able to view a couple of servers from the guest OS on the host one. The guest OS hosts them on addresses 10.0.2.15:2000x. I want my host to see them regardless of addresses.
I've tried bridging, adding a host-only adapter and after trying to get my setup working for the whole day, I couldn't find any simple way to do this.
So, would anyone care to point me in the right direction?
The host OS is Fedora 24 x64 and the guest one is Debian 8 x64.

All help appreciated. :D

See chapter 6 in the users guide to learn about the differences in the adapter types. It would be easier for you to use Bridged but the others should work too if setup properly. I would also make sure that you do not have a firewall issue and you need to verify that the guest obtains an IP address and that you know the range and how to use it.
