Dynamically allocated storage doesn't expand

Post by KIMW »

Hi,
I need some help.
I've setup a dynamically allocated storage (VDI) with a virtual size of 25GB for Windows 8 and although I running out of space it does not expand automatically. What can I do?

As you have figured by now, "dynamically allocated" concerns the allocation of the VDI on the host, not what is presented to the guest. The guest always sees a fixed (25GB) hard disk. The "expanding hard drive as needed" has not been invented (yet).

Take a look at one of the FAQs (you might have missed it during your search): How to resize a Virtual Drive.

If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
