Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

Also post the results of id in the host terminal.

Hello Perryg,
thanks for the quick request. Here what you want

Bus 002 Device 007: ID 0482:0015 Kyocera Corp.

In the VM comes "Usb device not recognized".
I saw the ID is 0482:0015 and in VB is only 0082:0015 (see picture). I try to change from 0082 to 0482 -> brings also nothing.

thx

OK assuming that you rebooted the host after the permission change so it took effect, all that is required is the ExtPack installed and the user id to have the vboxusers group. There is no need for a filter and you should remove that and select the printer from the device tab at the top. You should then see Windows installing a driver for it and can at that point setup the printer. I also think that you should at least enable USB2 in the guest settings for optimal support.

Hello Perryg,

i make all your solutions
- reboot host
- check user is in group vboxusers -> yes
- remove filter
- enable usb2
- boot guest -> select printer from the device tab at the top (in the VM) -> In the VM comes "Usb device not recognized".

Thats my problem all the time. I make 2 screenshots. Excuse they are in german.

thx

Sorry I don't read German and can not translate a graphics. Then your only other recourse is to do a network share just like it was on metal. You will need to use bridged and or host-only so the host and guest can communicate.

I am moving this to Windows guest since we have eliminated Linux at this point.

Not if you use host-only. See chapter 6 in your VirtualBox users manual.

It is impossible to be the same as before unless you think does not work is the same. What exactly did you do to get the network configured and what did you do to connect to the network printer. Did you share the printer in the host?

Hello,
First i create a Host-only network like i told before ("Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager" -> File -> Preferences -> Network -> host-only network -> create vboxnet0)
Then i go to my networkadapter of my VM an choose "Host-only Adapter" and Name "virtualbox0" (look picture)
- boot guest -> select printer from the device tab at the top (in the VM) -> In the VM comes "Usb device not recognized".
Did i make something wrong or did i forget something ?
thx

Being a network share you will not be using the USB device as type. So forget the USB part and do a normal network share from the host to the guest. Be sure to share the printer in the host and select to install a network printer in the guest.

Hello Perryg,

thanks for your answers, but that was not im looking for. I'd like to install printer without the way over binding the network. Is there some more solution or thats the only last way with my constalation ?
I don't understand why the printer can not found in windows. Did the extrapack pass through the printer to windows or not in the moment ? It's not so that on a real system i had the same problem. And long time before i also don't have that problem and it works.

thx
