[Audio lag] Reporting lag problem with PulseAudio
Posted: 15. Jul 2016, 19:14
Hardware
Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RS880 HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 4200 Series]
(integrated)
VirtualBox version
5.0.24 r108355
Host
Xubuntu 14.04.4 LTS trusty
Guest
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Had a perceivable 50/100ms audio delay, with YouTube and audio-related software.
In the virtual machine settings, I set:
Audio->Host audio Driver->ALSA Audio Driver (was: PulseAudio)
Controller audio: Intel HD Audio (unchanged)
and it solved the problem.
Just reporting this, I'll let the experts decide if it's worth a bug report or a discussion.
My concern is that PulseAudio is set as the default host driver (e.g. when creating a new virtual machine).
Best regards.
