So earlier I got bored and decided to put Windows 95 on VirtualBox. The only problem is that each time I attempt to install it it gives me a "Standard Mode: Fault outside of MS-DOS extender" error.
I looked over the forums and found out that you need VT-x disabled to stop this. The only problem is that the accelerations tab is greyed out. I tried Windows 2000 and it wouldn't load because VT-x is disabled.
Also, in my BIOS/UEFI I tried looking to enable to try to get that tab un-greyed. There was nothing about VT-x there. I ran a test to see if my PC could do it and it said I could. I checked and Hyper-V Virtualization in Firmware is off.
If it's disabled by default then why would it give the standard mode error even though enabled VT-x causes it?
My PC specs are:
OS: Windows 10 Home Edition
Version 10.0.10586 Build 10586
HP Envy 750 Desktop PC
x64 based
12 GB RAM
Intel Core i5-6400 CPU
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Windows 9x: Standard Mode: Fault outside of MS-DOS extender
In order to better understand the problem you need to submit some more information. Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance. For the VM log file ("VBox.log.zip"), here's what you do:
- Start the VM. Not from a saved or suspended state. Clean start.
- Take the steps required to generate/observe the error.
- Record the error message. EXACTLY. Post a screenshot if you have to.
- Shut down the VM (if it hasn't aborted by itself). Not suspended, not paused. Shut down. If you can't shut it down by normal means, close the VM window and select "Power off".
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show Log..."
- Save it (just the first log, VBox.log), ZIP it and attach it in your response (see the "Upload attachment" at the bottom of the form).
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show in Explorer".
- ZIP the selected ".vbox" file and attach it in your response.
