VirtualBox on Cloud
VirtualBox on Cloud
I am looking for a VirtualBox host on cloud that will enable me to upload my own VHDs and VDIs. However I could not find one.

Re: VirtualBox on Cloud
As Virtualbox is designed for a single user on a local PC you won't probably find something.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the instant response.
Since VirtualBox will not be available on cloud, is there any other option to upload my VDIs or VHDs on any other platform? Any platform other than Azure.

Shot in the dark, what about Amazon EC2?

Re: VirtualBox on Cloud
Moving to "Using VirtualBox"
Any cloud provider would allow you to upload them but each would require some kind of conversion work. There isn't any that would allow it out of the box (AFAIK).
You would need to read the doc of each provider to know what format they accept.
Usually the stesp are to transform the VDI to a RAW disk format with VirtualBox then to the cloud provider format using their own tools.

Re: VirtualBox on Cloud
Most cloud host machines (like Amazon EC2) are themselves virtual machines, so are not suitable to run VirtualBox.Rajendren wrote:I am looking for a VirtualBox host on cloud that will enable me to upload my own VHDs and VDIs. However I could not find one.

Re: VirtualBox on Cloud
Sounded to me like OP was asking if anyone ran a virtual rental environment like EC2 or Azure, but where Virtualbox was the hosting environment instead of VMware or Hyper-v. Pluging one's own guests in could be made possible, but I've never heard of a Virtualbox-based rental environment.

Re: VirtualBox on Cloud
A quick search for "virtualbox cloud" gave me this link: http://www.hostedvirtualbox.com/hostedvirtualbox/ which they advertise as "HostedVirtualBox is a Cloud Desktop specifically for VirtualBox users". Haven't even read their whole website, just the first page, but it might be worth to take a look.
