Virtualbox bricks my wifi adapter

Every time i install virtualbox, everything works fine. There are no error messages and the iso's and ova's i use boot up normally. Than when i reboot, my wifi card is no longer being read. It appears as "device not ready" in the wifi tab. Iwconfig shows that the adapter is there but ifconfig doesnt show it. This is the second time this has happened and uninstalling virtualbox does not make my adapter work again. I really dont want to reinstall everything all over again after i already did so two times. I cant find any solutions on google nor on any tech forums. I am considering switching to VMware since boxes doesnt support some settings. I see other people have similar issues but for arch linux and im using a ubuntu based linux. Can anyone at lest tell me how can i fix my wifi adapter so i dont have to reinstall my OS?
OS: parrot 3.0
Network card: Ralink rt2800pci

Is parrot 3.0 the host or guest? I can not find anyone that has installed VirtualBox on psos, only as a guest.
By the way to brick something means it is not repairable and becomes a brick to hold the door or some other useful function, so I assume you mean the network drivers on the host get corrupt, right?

Parrot 3.0 is my OS. im running virtualbox on it, not sure as guest or not. i read up on some forums and it stated that i may not be running a certain firmware for my adapter but it was working fine without it.
And this has happened only right after i install virtualbox.

Very well. Since this is the host that is having issues I would ask the parrot folks on the success or not when using VirtualBox. I also suggest that you listen to the folks that say you may not have the proper firmware as this is exactly the kind of thing that can happen if you do not.

Why does my host all of a sudden remember that the wlan firmware is not present after installing virtualbox?

I can't help you with the host OS. I am not that familiar with it other than it is based on Debian and used for pen testing or hacking. Like I said you really should talk to the parrot folks. They will know if there are any packages they use that make it not compatible with VirtualBox. I can tell you that a complete re-install should not be needed to fix anything that may have been caused by installing/removing VirtualBox. Simply repair the network stack and carry on.

i got it to work, i had to install apt-file and update all of the firmware that the host was using. The folks at parrot take a long time to answer which is why i asked here but thanks for replying at lest.
