Unable to install the Extension Pack

While attempting to install the Extension Pack, I recieve following error:

Failed to install the Extension Pack Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.3.38-106717.vbox-extpack.

Failed to load the main module ('/usr/lib/virtualbox/ExtensionPacks/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack/linux.x86/VBoxPuelMain.so'): VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND - /usr/lib/virtualbox/ExtensionPacks/Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack/linux.x86/VBoxPuelMain.so: undefined symbol: RTLogRelDefaultInstance.

What is the version of VirtualBox you have installed and where did you get it?
If you already have installed a guest you can post the guest log ( as an attachment ) which will speed things up a bit.

NOTE: I use Ubuntu 14.04 as temporary operating system for backing-up data before new system install.

I have installed the VirtualBox 5.0.22 r108108 from the Ubuntu repository and had downloaded the latest visible on Oracle website Extension Pack (with the version as in the topic start)

We don't support the Ubuntu repo version of VirtualBox. You should install the official version with matching ExtPack from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
