Missing snapshots - cannot discard state/delete guest

Post by leightonn »

I accidentally deleted some snapshots on my Ubuntu Hardy host for my Enterprise Linux guest. Whenever I try to discard the state I get the following message.
Could not copy the state file '/home/leighton/.VirtualBox/Machines/EL/Snapshots/{2859993b-da07-4de5-91a8-418e650c57b1}.sav' to '/home/leighton/.VirtualBox/Machines/EL/Snapshots/{4ffb3aab-9909-4800-e78f-df8380406a90}.sav' (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND).
When I try to delete the guest using the UI I get the following message.
Cannot unregister the machine 'EL5' because it has 1 snapshots.
Is there a way to forcefully remove a guest without uninstalling virtualbox? I have other guests running and I wouldn't want to do that.
