I have Window 10 home running in Virtualbox 5.0.2 r 102096 under Linux Mint 17.3. This Windows automatic update (KB3163018) requires a restart but then fails to install. Other updates have installed in the past but this one fails each time.
It does install on my "real" Window 10 hardware.
Any ideas?

? My main suggestion is that you contact Microsoft with your Windows support question.

It seems related to the way vbox shuts down and then restarts but thanks for the reply.mpack wrote:? My main suggestion is that you contact Microsoft with your Windows support question.

Re: Windows 10 in Linux Mint automatic update fails to install
Moved to Windows guest.
If it fails then there must be a notation about it somewhere. I don't do Windows a lot but when I did it always had an indication of the problem. Search through the reporting logs on the guest and see what it says. Post that and if it is a VirtualBox issue then someone can help. Without any more information than it just fails no one can tell why.
