Non full screen game on windows xp virtual box

Post by GabrieleJax »

Good morning everyone,

I've installed windows xp in my virtual box and I've installed guest additions and extension pack too. My virtualbox is full screen and works fine but when I start a game I've installed, it doesn't go full screen (see attached image). Any idea how can I solve this problem?
I've got an old computer with windows xp and the game goes full screen there.

Thanks.

Does the game switch resolutions when it goes "full screen"? If so then you'd need to enable scale mode if you want to fill the host window.

Incidentally, your screenshot doesn't show XP full screen, it shows a maximized host window, which is something different.

If you need to continue this discussion then provide a VM log: with the VM fully shut down, right click it in GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Hi,

even if I switch to full screen mode ("host + f" shortcut) the game continue appearing small.

Attached is the zip requested.
