Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

As well as the following:

From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.

Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

I don't see your "problem", the mac address is printed after "ether" in your output.

You will not become the greatest hacker by using kali linux.
Learn linux beasics instead of thinking to be a great hacker.
Kali in a vm does not make many sense.

Omg why so salty jesus christ. The guy is asking a TOTALLY fair question. I was not aware this forums was for pros only, JESUS. Anyways my man, I had the exact same question as you. Apparently as someone said, the numbers after ether is the mac address. I also wondered why I didnt get a HWaddr as I get when on my host computer. I'm sorry I can't explain the reason, but it is what it is. And don't let this sad sad man get to you, normally people are super friendly and will answer any question you may have.

Joseph.

Different sad sad man here...

No, he wasn't. You see, these are the VirtualBox forums. Forums for users that have a problem with VirtualBox. Not for people that don't understand the fundamentals of an operating system. Otherwise these forums would turn into an elementary school for all sorts of operating systems. You don't want that, I don't want that. The noise to signal ratio goes way high up.

Despite that, we're doing our best to help out n00bs. We were there. All of us. And we wouldn't be volunteering our time to help other users, if we hadn't been in their place, not long ago.

So, back to the original question. If you can't figure out what your MAC address in Kali is, why would you make the VirtualBox forums your first destination? Not to a Kali Linux forum? Or even a Linux forum? Heck, you can even get that information from the 1st page of a Google query!

And 'towo2099' answered politely and guiding the user to the appropriate place. The OP must have read/heard about MAC spoofing and WiFi hacking, decided to try it in VirtualBox, couldn't figure out his left from his right foot, and thought of asking in the VirtualBox forums from all places? I'm sorry, it doesn't sound like someone is doing their homework as they should. And towo2099, as a good teacher, pointed them to the right direction.
