Hi there,
I'm not sure if this question's a little obvious, but basically I want to use VirtualBox on my mac to run Windows 10 so I can then use a Windows-only piece of software (Wordsmith). However, I think I read on a website (I can't recall which) that to do this I need a Windows 10 CD/DVD. However, I was planning to download it straight from the Microsoft store, because my mac doesn't have a DVD drive. Does anyone happen to know if the (official) download of Windows 10 from Microsoft will install and work through VirtualBox just the same as the DVD version? I can't see that this would make a difference, but the reason I ask is because Windows 10 is around £100, and I don't want to buy it by download if it won't work like this but would then rather think of a different solution.
Thanks very much in advance,
Liam

If it's an ISO image then yes, you can use it to install on any PC, including blank PCs, including virtual ones. I did exactly this about a month ago.
