Can I use SCSI devices with VirtualBox?

Hi

I am trying to get a SCSI based film scanner (the Nikon LS-2000 to be precise) to work with VirtualBox but I'm not having much success.

The SCSI card and the scanner are detected on the Linux host but not when I launch my virtual Windows XP system. Here is the output of 'cat /proc/scsi/scsi/ :

Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00
Vendor: Nikon Model: LS-2000 Rev: 1.31
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02

The SCSi card is an Adaptec 2940AU I think.

I am using Ubuntu Gusty Gibon 7.10 and VirtualBox 1.6.2 on Linux Kernel 2.6.22-15-generic

Any help appreciated

Ted

The VBox VMM embeds a Pluggable Device Manager, and at the moment it doesn't process generic SCSI devices.

I was going to give you a more detailed explanation, but it struck me that this would be of wider interest, so I don't want to hide it under this topic. Look out for the new topic. :-)
