Hi all,
I'm studying for the MCSA exam in Windows Server 2012 R2. I can't seem to successfully start the Windows Server 2012 on Virtual Box.
I get a "PC needs to restart" on a black screen.
I'm running Virtual Box on Windows 7 Home Premium i3.
Thanks for your help

Re: Failed Installation of Windows Server 2012 R2
That sounds like the problem we used to see with Windows 8.1 when the wrong profile was selected. If you look at the settings of your vm, what does it list for type and version?
It works for me using Windows2012(64-bit).
Do you have hardware virtualization enabled in the BIOS? Server2012R2 must be 64-bit.

Thanks for your reply Bill.
As far as I know I am using Windows 2012(64-bit).
Hardware virtualization is enabled.
I tried starting it again and it shows the following:
Your PC needs to restart
Please hold down the power button
Error Code: 0x000000C4
Parameters:
0x0
I should mention I am using Virtualbox 5.0.20 for Windows host.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Failed Installation of Windows Server 2012 R2
Server 2012R2 only comes in the 64-bit version. That was what was trying to tell you.
I have only seen that error with Windows 8.1 trying to install in a Windows 8 profile. It should not happen with the Windows 2012(64bit) profile if your host has hardware virtualization available. I installed Server2012R2 as a vm on my machine yesterday to check.
