I am running a Linux Mint 17.03 Host, 64 bit, and am trying to set up multiple 64 bit guests.

When I attempt the startup, I am only given the option for 32 bit guests.

I went into the BIOS and Security, it seems that virtualization is enabled.

Whats more, I know that Windows 7 64 bit works on my current hardware setup, and i replaced it with LM 3 days ago.

I am running VB 5.0 if that matters.

Also, I attempted to run 64 bit guests a week ago, with Win7 64 bit as the host, same issue.

I know I'm a loser, please help.

Something is definitely wrong. If you have hardware virtualization enabled then you should see 64-bit as an option. Only thing on a Linux host that would cause the issue is if you have a KVM kernel module installed. We would need to see a guest log assuming you went ahead and installed a 32 bit guest to be able to see what might be the issue.

I have not installed a 32 bit guest. Should that be my next step?

Without a log we can't say anything much. So whatever it takes..

I attempted a 32 bit guest, once with Ubuntu mate and once with xubuntu, both of which ended with a Nintendo error screen, The log for UbMate is attached.

I'm having difficulty finding your exact CPU specs, but your Core 2 Duo T5900 CPU does not seem to support VT-x (hardware assisted virtualization), and that's certainly what the wording of the error means, therefore you can't run 64bit VMs using VirtualBox, nor some modern guest OS's even if they are 32bit, e.g. Win8+, Win2k12, Win10.

The fact that you can install a 64bit OS on your host isn't particularly telling. See FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.
