Win7 Guest used as a Image for the deployment of Installation on new Hardware

Post by PED-VB »

Dear Readers
Under VB 4.3.18 i have installed a Win7Pro Installation with some usually used software for deploy it to hardware installations. With a free clone software I make an image an put it on the HDD of the target system. Then I use the HIR tool of Storagecraft (Hardware-Independent-Recovery) to adapte the drivers to the new hardware environment.
Now I start the new hardware machine. The machine runs and Win7 make aditional adaptations to the new environment. After I connect it with internet and activiat Win and if necessary additional software with a new activation key ... so far all works well ...
My problem is the processor driver: In the device manager it appaers every time a acclamation mark at the processor icons. An the code 37 (cannot initialize the device driver) is displayed in the description. Unfortunately I dont find any solution:
Deinstalling and reinstalling of the driver ...,
topic: virtualbox topic 27848 ....
sfc /scannow ...
all this trials arent work.
The result is especially visible on intel iX-processors. It seems that they are used every time in the max. clockrate and the system is not able to switch it down.
Does anyone can explain my a solution?
Thanks

This actually isn't a VirtualBox problem. VirtualBox provides the (simulated) hardware the guest OS runs on. It isn't the hardware manufacturers responsibility to make sure that the guest OS installs a system which is compatible with some other hardware somewhere down the line. You need to tell the guest OS to install such compatibility, and for that you should probably ask on a Microsoft support site.

You might also want to ask Storagecraft if their migration software can be made to help.
