In v5.0.20 I can not install the latest Ubuntu 16.04 using Win10 as host. Is this problem fixed?
The problem is that when I start Ubuntu as guestOS and choose to install to disk, the Ubuntu install refuses complaining that "the disk is only 4.2MB big, you need at least 7GB disk space". I am using dynamic disk size of 100GB. I also tried Ubuntu v15.10 - same problem there. "The 4.2MB disk is too small". So if anyone could confirm that it is possible that the Ubuntu install procedure starts to copy files to the disk, when using Win10 as host, it would be great.
Using Win7 as host, it works fine. Ubuntu will install on v5.0.20.
Win10 host + Ubuntu guest works?

In that same announcement there is nothing specific about your problem, so my first reaction would be: Did you try it with the new beta? Resurrecting a past problem is not going to do to much during the beta-phase. They (DEVs) usually focus on fixing newly introduced features and preventing new problems from creeping in.frank at the 5.1b1 announcement wrote:Please concentrate on reporting regressions since VirtualBox 5.0.20.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

I havent tried Beta, I need to work. But if it is not possible to install Ubuntu using Win10 as host, then it is a regression? Or, a serious problem? Do you have a Win10 machine that you can confirm this problem exists? Not only I have this problem, but all Win10 machines have this problem?socratis wrote:kebabbert wrote:In v5.0.20 I can not... This topic is certainly NOT suitable for this Beta forum. Please attach the VBox.log file of such a VM session otherwise we cannot do anything for you.
