Host Network died after Guest mapped a network drive

Post by pholvey »

Hi all,

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 as host with XP as guest. Install went fine, and everything was going smooth for multiple sessions (ie, etc.) when I decided to go for broke and map a network drive. The mapping in XP worked, but now Linux can't use any of the network connections. No pings, no DNS resolution, no connection at all (network manager still sees connections, but firefox and the terminal don't...or maybe do (ifconfig gives me stuff and I can watch the packet count increase) but won't involve themselves (i.e. ping does not work).

Does any one have any ideas? I tried restarting both the guest and the host, and I've also unmapped the drive, both with no success.

Help?
