Some programs leave a trace when you uninstall them which creates problems if you try to install a later version of the program in future. Which may cause glitches in the program. When I uninstall the Guest Additions on a Windows 7 64-bit Guest, does it leave a trace?
Can I install and uninstall future Guest Addition updates without issues?
Can Guest Additions be uninstalled without leaving a trace?

It seems to me that this is 100% a theoretical question, isn't it? Because you haven't actually tried it and got yourself into trouble. There is none so far that I've seen that has reported a "potential" problem like that. So, my confidence level is too high about installing/uninstalling the GAs.

Re: Can Guest Additions be uninstalled without leaving a trace?
Good to hear thanks. I was wondering though, how do I install a future update version of Guest Additions? When I go to Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD Image, does that download the most recent Guest Additions before running the installer as I can't seem to find any info about that?

Have you tried the user manual? Chapter 4.1, second paragraph.Holygamer wrote:I can't seem to find any info about that?
