how to access the command line?

Yes...I am a big time noob.....How do I access the command line to add or make changes?
Sounds to me like you need to go out and buy yourself an "intro to Linux" book, or even google "linux how do I get to the command line".
This forum is about VBox, getting it to work and using it.
