Do VirtualBox watches users?

1) What information VirtualBox collects about us and our VMs...? What it sends to Oracle?
2) And the proprietary Extensions Pack?
3) And the Guest-Additions soft from the iso-image?

- About you? Nothing. You're not that interesting
. Unless...... Julian? Edward? Is that you?
As far as I know, the only information sent to Oracle is the VirtualBox version that you're running and it notifies you (if you choose to) about a new version. See VirtualBox Preferences, Update.
- Nothing.
- Nothing. It simply checks with the VirtualBox process running on the host to see if there are GA updates and notifies you about that fact.

Actually, I've heard that VBox sends your entire life history to room 101 at Oracle, along with your grans life history, plus all the porn sites in your browser records. This is so if you ever cause them any trouble they can tell your gran about you. It's what I heard! Oh, and bank details too though nobody cares about that.

Oh, them? They're the worst of them all

. They report directly to NSA, KGB, CIA, WWF, FBI, MI6, Greenpeace, KIP, Mossad, KYP, RedCross, ISIS and Kim Jong-un. In person!
Avoid them like the plague! If you have internet access, PULL THE PLUG RIGHT NOW! And cover your head with a
tin-foil-hat! It really helped me! Now I can help others!!!
Spread the word people!!!!

@lana,
AFAIK after working with the actual source code for years, There is no real line of communications with the exception of a single use. They do allow you to check ( depending on your setting ) for updates. It queries the repo and then your local copy compares it with what you actually have installed. If you do not want that then you simply turn it off in the preferences section. As for the other product you asked about I have no idea and there is no way to actually tell since their source is not open like VirtualBox is. One of the pitfalls of closed source code ( like the other one you asked about ) is you have no idea what it is actually doing.

Which rather highlights the real answer to the question: VirtualBox is open source. If you wonder what the software does then you're free to view the source code. If you don't trust the extension pack then don't install it. If you don't believe what the devs tell you then don't install VirtualBox at all.
