I am trying to run Turnkey (turnkey-lamp-13.0-wheezy-i386) in VirtualBox.

I select the option to create a new virtual machine, give it a name, select Linux Ubuntu 32bit, selet 512mb of RAM, select the option to use an existing virtual hard drive file, and when Iopen the VMDK file of Turnkey I receive this error message:
Failed to open the hard disk file /home/username/turnkey-lamp-13.0-wheezy-i386/turnkey-lamp-13.0-wheezy-i386-disk1.vmdk.
Could not get the storage format of the medium '/home/username/turnkey-lamp-13.0-wheezy-i386/turnkey-lamp-13.0-wheezy-i386-disk1.vmdk' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).
In the details box it says:
Code Result:
VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005)
Component:
Medium
Interface:
IMedium {05f2bbb6-a3a6-4fb9-9b49-6d0dda7142ac}
Caller:
IVirtualBox {fafa4e17-1ee2-4905-a10e-fe7c18bf5554}
Caller RC:
VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)
I tried a everything since downloading the file again, selecting multiple operating systems, choosing more RAM... but I still can't run the file.

Can anyone help me?

Where did you get the VM from?
If you can't post URLs yet, "obfuscate" them by inserting spaces, or create a TXT file with the link in it and attach it, or describe how to get the VM.

I'm sorry, but I failed to see a similar problem description or a solution for the problem that the OP mentioned. Could you please point it to me?

Couple of problems.
  • 1) you should import the guest and not try creating it from scratch.
    2) But don't bother since that guest has a corrupt header.
    3) Using pre-created guests you need to talk to the publisher to get install procedures and validation tests.
