Kodi and HDMI in VirtualBox

I wish to install Kodi (Kodibuntu) in a VM. Kodi is HTPC and Kodibuntu is a Ubuntu distribution with Kodi pre-installed.

With Kodi, then I have to see movie in a TV with HDMI.
Is this possible?
Are there some best practices?

The Host is Linux, Debian or a light Ubuntu distribution (like Server or Xubuntu).
