On Scientific Linux 7.
It looks like the most recent update 5.0.20 breaks my X with nvidia drivers from elrepo repositories.
If I yum upgrade from the VirtualBox repository then upgrade appears successful and I can use VirtualBox,
however on reboot there are "no display" Xorg errors.
yum downgrading does not help and I have to restore to recent backup.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks,
GZU
SL7 host and nvidia driver
Re: SL7 host and nvidia driver
If it helps anybody, reinstalling the elrepo nvidia packages fixes the issue.
I have not gone as far as to determine the individual packages required so I used
yum --enablerepo elrepo reinstall nvidia-x11-drv-340xx-340.96-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64 kmod-nvidia-340xx-340.96-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64 nvidia-x11-drv-340xx-32bit-340.96-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64
Cheers,
