Windows 10 hang after update with more than 1 CPU

Post by lgilmont »

Dear,

My host is Linux Mint 17.3, I'd Vbox 5.0.2 installed with Win 10 64bits - 2CPU & 4GB RAM - Video RAM 128MB

This week-end I installed latest update from MS and since then when the machine boot it stop on the blue flag. After mingling on this I discovered that the machine now only boots when setting up 1 processor, if more than VM machine hangs.

I've tried to update Vbox to 5.0.18 with extensions, as well guest VBox driver etc... Still no cigar same issue.

I've crawled in the forum but don't see a real solution, any idea?

Thx for support.

The Windows update has probabely (re)activated Hyper-V, this needs to be removed to be able to use VT-x and run guests with 64bit or more than one CPU.

Hi,

Thanks for idea, I've checked it and it is not enabled on the current machine.

Any other idea?

Seems that the ticket here is the same behavior.

What is strange is that it worked fine before on 5.0.2, tried to rollback my version but problem now persist.

Thx.
